A quarter-mile-long, Japanese-owned container ship en route from China to Europe has been stuck in the Suez canal for several days. It is blocking more than a hundred other ships, halting a vital global commerce route. The engineers are still struggling to propose a solution to the crisis.
However, an ambitious back end developer from Southern California Peter Pot says he has the perfect solution: simply adding more containers onto the stuck container ship will resolve the crisis.
In Peter's own experience, adding more containers is a seemingly counter-intuitive, but a shockingly effective solution to many, many engineering problems. (disclaimer: Peter insists on calling him an engineer despite not having any official engineering accreditation or certification).
